Review
To my love Bomba Estereo lyrics meaning and English translation
To my love is one of those songs you have probably listened to but you didn’t know the name of it. To my love is a song by the Colombian group Bomba Estéreo, the song was released in 2015 and it became a success on all platforms because of the rhythm and the Spanglish lyrics.
To my love is a song about a girl who gave her love to a boy that disappeared suddenly. From what we can understand in the lyrics, she met him one night, fell in love with him, and probably declared to him his love, he accepted her love saying that he felt the same thing as her, but before the night was over, the boy abandoned her, running away and not coming back anymore. The song describes what we can call a one-night stand love.
To my love by Bomba Estéreo is an excellent song for those learning Spanish because you can feel less pressured since the most important sentence in the lyrics is in English. As explained above in the lyrics “to’ my love” means “All my love” since “to’” is a contraction for “todo” – “All, everything” and the song plays using both “To my love” and “To’ my love” to make the song more cheerful and assertive at the same time.
Now, the lyrics for To my love aren’t difficult, there aren’t difficult verbs or complicated words but if you aren’t used to fast-paced Spanish you will probably have trouble following the singing as the vocalist sings a little fast and the pronunciation is a little modified with autotune programs. Besides all that, the song is recommended for those who want a not-so-difficult challenge to practice their Spanish.
