Camila Mientes meaning and lyrics explained
Mientes – “You Lie” is a song by the Mexican band Camila . The song was released in 2009 and it’s considered one of the most influential and popular Spanish songs. Mientes received 2 Latin Grammy Awards as the Best Song of the Year and Record of the Year.
Camila tells us through the lyrics of Mientes the story of a man who meet a girl, a beautiful model , at first everything in their relationship was nice and lovely, she taught him many things and became indispensable in his life. The man was so much in love with the girl that he did everything she told him to, he followed her with his eyes closed.
Later, she was changing her personality and the man realized that she wasn’t the person he thought she was, she wasn’t the person he asked to be in his life. Everything after that was a toxic relationship when the girl was always hurting him and then later, she came asking for forgiveness.
As she was hurting him all the time, he finally understood that he needed to dump her and so he does. With time he’s healing all the emotional wounds that she inflicted on him, and when he was about to forget her, she came asking to come back, however, the man was brave enough to set her off because now he’s better off without her.
Mientes by Camila is a great song , not only for men who are in toxic relationships but also for girls who suffer abuse from their partners. People have to know that some people no matter how much love we have for them, will probably not change their attitudes.
Overall Mientes is a cool song, in terms of learning Spanish is very easy to practice , the lyrics aren’t complicated and the singing is normal, the voices are clear to hear. It is indeed a cool song for beginners that want to hear a good Spanish song and at the same time practice their Spanish level.
