Review
Christian Nodal is a Mexican composer and singer. He published in 2016 his first single named “Adíos amor”, the single was well received in Mexico and in the USA.
Christian Nodal has a family full of musicians and that was his inspiration to become an artist. He can play the guitar and the trumpet his father Jaime González is the producer of his own musical house. At the age of 13 Christian discovered his talent and passion for Mexican music which is similar to Country music. Most of his songs are related to love, family, and joyful experiences.
Christian has won two Grammys as the “Best Mexican Regional Song”, the first in 2017 and the second in 2021.
The song “They Didn't Tell You Wrong ” tells us the story of a man who faces his ex-girlfriend who is demanding an explanation for some gossip she heard from a friend. She was told that he was with another girl one night.
The man answered his ex by confirming the gossip, he was with someone else, that’s why the song's name is “They Didn't Tell You Wrong”. He told the story of the night when his ex, dumped him. The reasons are unknown but he continues explaining that he got drunk and met a girl, they both kissed and made out. They flirted and everything happened.
He asks his ex-girlfriend what’s the matter, what is her concern if she broke with him, they weren’t together at the moment.
The song is a reflexive lyric about those people that don’t want to be with you but they don’t want to see you happy with someone else either.
