Review
This song is about a love story. A love story about two persons who grow up together, and their lover grow with them. But eventually one of them left the town and love behind.
The lyrics come back and forward leaving us guessing who is the one talking. So all emotions and questions emerge while we can understand that time went by and one of them moved on and got married to someone else, leaving the other one with only unanswered questions and pain.
"Hoja en blanco" was originally recorded by Ómar Geles and the voice of Esmeralda Orozco, a work that despite having been released more than 20 years ago, is still valid in many markets around the world and is an obligatory theme to interpret for the vallenatos that play in Mexico and Central America.
The version I choose is my favorite and it was recorded by Dread Mar I, an Argentinian reggae band.
In this video clip, we can see the history represented, we can see the protagonist through time and through all the different situations and emotions they experience living this love story.
