Review

Jesse & Joy ¿Con quien se queda el perro? Meaning and lyrics explained

¿Con quien se queda el perro?“With whom does the dog stay?” is a song by the Mexican band Jesse & Joy. The song was released in November 2010 and it’s a nice song that teaches us a great lesson about breaking up a relationship.

¿Con quien se queda el perro? Lyrics tell us the story of a young couple that broke up recently and they are splitting everything as one of them is leaving home soon. The man is sleeping on the sofa and the girl is on the bed, both of them spend cold nights, somehow, they miss each other but their relationship reached a point when there is no turning back.

We can see Jesse & joy outside the house watching the couple packing everything and a beautiful dog playing in the garden not knowing what’s going on. The girl says that she’s going to leave the boy the CD’S and the toaster, she even tells him to keep a fake Picasso.

What’s sad in the song is that their relationship has ended and there’s no way to recover it, the lyrics of ¿Con Quien se Queda el Perro? Is a reminder that sometimes love can die and there is no way to change that, the couple from the video clip and song is very mature and they assume everything as adults. In the end, the big question is who’s going to keep the dog?

At the end of the song and video clip, we can see the dog running and then getting up in a taxi, moving from the house, it is unknown who leaves the house but from what we can assume the boy left giving the house to the girl.

¿Con quien se queda el perro? Is a beautiful song, I have to admit that some feelings flowed in my heart and the song almost made me cry. The lyrics are easy to understand and the singing and voice are clear and easy to follow. Overall this song by Jesse & Joy is excellent with a broken heart who at the same time wants to practice Spanish a little.
