Review
Juan Luis Guerra La hormiguita meaning and English lyrics explained
La hormiguita – “The little ant” is a song by the famous Dominican singer Juan Luis Guerra . The song was released in 2001 and after so many years La hormiguita is one of the most popular Latin ballads of all time.
If you have ever wondered what is the meaning of La hormiguita by Juan Luis Guerra , then let’s start by saying that is a song about poetic love and romanticism. La hormiguita English meaning speaks about a man who is telling us his story when one afternoon he met a beautiful girl he fell in love with. She was playing her guitar wearing jeans and a yellow rose in her hair.
After that, they went to the sea and together watched a dolphin dancing in the waves which helped them to break the ice. The man compares funnily the girl to a little ant who walks through his back and his face, making him tickle and giving him sweet kisses.
La hormiguita by Juan Luis Guerra is a beautiful song and like many of his songs, contains many poetic verses but not to worry, if you are learning Spanish and you think this song could be difficult to practice with, don’t be afraid, although the song has imaginary and poetic lyrics, they aren’t difficult to understand and follow and that’s what makes Juan Luis Guerra lyrics so fantastic because he made them be understood even by children.
In terms of learning, La hormiguita is an easy song , with easy lyrics and slow-paced singing, uncomplicated words and verbs and Juan Luis Guerra's voice is clear and easy to follow, I can easily recommend this song to those wanting to learn Spanish with music and at the same time to know one of the best Hispanic composers so far.
