Review
Song summary:
"Me voy" is the first single from the album Limón y sal, released in 2006 by singer Julieta Venegas. This is her most successful song since it transcended borders, reaching the first places even in countries like Italy and Switzerland.
What: The song was written by Julieta Venegas and produced by Cachorro López, and is considered a Ranchera/Pop farewell song between two lovers.
Song emotion:
In Me voy Julieta talks about valuing yourself and therefore leaving a relationship in which the other person does not know how to value you.
It can also mean how you don't have to put up with someone disrespecting you in an argument because, even though you are also responsible for having reached that situation
About the video:
The video begins with Julieta Venegas in a room where she is singing to a man but he is sleeping. She packs her things and flies off in a hot air balloon. She lands in a desert where she builds herself a home amongst the animals. She grows tired of her life from her there, and she flies away again and lands at the South Pole. She tries to live as a fisher woman with an igloo house, but she once again tires of her life from her. Her last attempt at a happy home lands her in a forest, but she leaves this place as well. The video ends with her flying off into the sunset in her hot air balloon.
