Review

"La Bikina" is a legend from the era of "Los Cristeros". The Cristero War was a conflict in Mexico during the 1920s, where the Catholic community fought for the freedom of worship against the government led by Plutarco Elías Calles. The war caused a terrible civil massacre.
The Mexican folk song 'La Bikina' is based on the legend of a woman named Carmela, who was abandoned at birth and suffered abuse from a captain named Humberto Ruiz. She was taken to a convent but was kidnapped by the army and then locked up by Ruiz for 17 years. Eventually, Ruiz became kind to her, and she left him after a night of love, disappearing like the last star of the evening into the sky. This song was popularized by Luis Miguel, and it is one of the most beautiful songs of Mexican folklore.

The video is amazing. We can enjoy of seeing Luis Miguel with a big MARIACHI in concert. The song and video are very short.

As you can see, people tend to create new words in Spanish too and they become very popular when they are in songs and more if they are in a Mariachi songs.

In this song, you can also see how the verbs can be before the Subject. This is one of the most common things in this language.
