Review
Mecano Hoy no me puedo levantar meaning and English lyrics explained
Hoy no me puedo levantar - "I can't get up today" is a song by the Spanish rock-pop band Mecano . The song was released in 1982 and the song it's among their most popular tunes. Mecano was known for making songs and lyrics that represented the teen and young worker's life and their daily struggles, making their music feel like something you can get identified with
Hoy no me puedo levantar is a song about partying all weekend and then on Monday you don't the energy to get out of bed. If you ever woke up on a Monday with a hangover this song is probably going to get you a smile. The lyrics and the video clip tell us the story of a girl who had fun all weekend and now it's Monday and she can't get out of bed, her feet, hand, and eyes hurt and she can't concentrate, she needs to go to work but she doesn't feel like it so she choices to stay in bed all day resting ignoring the consequences of her actions.
Most people will feel identified with this song , not only because of partying but maybe spending all night playing a game or doing something else, and the next day you don't want to get up.
Hoy no me puedo levantar by Mecano is a funny and cool song, in terms of learning the song is easy and short, the lyrics are simple and it doesn't have difficult words or verbs, and the singing is a little fast, but what can be hard is the singing , Mecano is a Spanish band and their accent could be a little confusing for someone who isn't used to listen to their manners of speaking. Besides that, the song it's excellent to practice and I recommend it to those who want to practice their listening and pronunciation in Spanish.
