Review
«Nunca es suficiente» is a song by the Mexican singer and songwriter Natalia Lafourcade. This is the second single from her fifth studio album "Hasta la Raiz" In the video clip we can see through different images and interesting camera twists the history of those couples in which the love they have for each other is not enough to stay together.
She is declaring her unconditional love for her partner but at the same time recognizing it´s apparently not enough for either of them. She wishes she could somehow make him happier when she sees him not committing to her apparently.
Even though it is a song about heartbreak, the tone is still upbeat and is quite catchy.
Understanding it was a bit complicated, word by word was easy, but finding the way we would say it in English was the hard part.
In 2018 (three years after the song´s first release), Natalia teamed up with Los Angeles Azules. They are an Argentinian cumbia band, and together made a refreshing cumbia version of this song. You can listen to it Here
