Review
Rauw Alejandro Todo de ti meaning and English lyrics explained
Todo de ti – “Everything about you” is a song by the Puerto Rican singer Rauw Alejandro. The song was released in May 2021. The song reached a good position on the Hot Latin Songs Billboard and it was among the most popular songs on TikTok where people made their videos and challenges using the track.
Todo de ti starts with a guy who is looking in his garage for something, then he finds an old CD so he decides to use listen to the song it contains while playing the battery. The song on the disc brought him back so many memories and he start to remember a girl he met at a roller rink. In the video clip, we can see the guy and many other people enjoying and dancing in the roller rink as the song progresses and the guy gets in love with the girl.
The lyrics are a description of what the guy loves about the girl, as he loves “everything about her”. he describes how she dressed, the lipstick she used, and even how he kissed her glossy lips. The most important sentence in the song is where he says “Aceleraste mis latidos” – “You accelerated my heartbeat”, “Es que me gusta todo de ti” – “Because I love everything about you”.
Now the lyrics aren’t complicated, there few contractions and a couple of slang that can complicate the understanding, but they aren’t really difficult to process, if you have mid-Spanish knowledge, it shouldn’t be a problem.
What makes this song difficult is the singing, because his voice is edited so much with autotune that it makes him sound like a robot, even for a Spanish native understanding the whole lyrics can result in difficulty doing so. You have to listen carefully to follow up the lyrics throughout the song, there are some parts in the lyrics where the voice is more clear than others, in the end of the song his voice gets distorted a lot so not being able to understand the last sentences is comprehensible for anyone.
Overall, Todo de ti is a cool song because it has a great rhythm and as I mentioned before, the lyrics aren’t complicated but the singing is hard to follow. If you are looking for a Spanish challenge this song is excellent, you can try to sing the lyrics until you can keep up with the music.
