Review
Ricardo Arjona Mujeres meaning and lyrics explained
Mujeres – “Women” is a song by the famous Guatemalan singer and composer Ricardo Arjona. The song was released in 1993 and it is alongside other songs like “historia de un taxi” and “Jesús es verbo, no sustantivo” one of the most iconic songs by Ricardo Arjona.
Mujeres is a praising for women from the point of view of men. The lyrics tell us how far can a man go just to please a woman and to be the lover she deserves.
The song starts by saying that women are a miracle, the singer doesn’t know who invented them, but it had to be God because they are wonderful creatures. And because God saw the man so lonely and sad that he one day divided him in two, creating women.
The lyrics say that it is said that they were created from a rib, but he would even give his spine just to see them walk. If women inhabited the moon there will be more astronauts in space than sand in the sea.
In the end, the lyrics just speak about how great and mysterious is life with women in it and that probably without them men would go crazy and lonely.
Overall, Mujeres is a cool song because it is like a poetic ballad, there aren’t complicated verbs and sentences in it, and the rhythm is calm but catchy. Excellent Spanish songs to learn more about the language and the classics songs.
