Rocío Dúrcal was a Spanish singer and actress who achieved widespread success in Mexico. She was known for her ranchera music, a genre of Mexican folk music, and earned the nickname “Reina de las Rancheras” - "Queen of Rancheras."
Rocío Dúrcal was born in Madrid, Spain, in 1944. She began her career as a child actress, appearing in several Spanish films. In the 1960s, she moved to Mexico to pursue a music career. She quickly became one of the most popular singers in the country.
Her music was known for its traditional Mexican sound and her passionate vocals. In addition to her music career, Rocío Dúrcal also appeared in several Mexican films and television shows.
Como tu mujer – “As your woman” is one of her biggest hits, it was released in 1988 and the lyrics tell us the story of a girl who leaves her boyfriend because he deceives her and plays with her. She loved him and placed her hopes in him, yet he failed. The lyrics tell that after breaking up with him, the man appeared to change his personality and became the one she always wanted to see, but now she can see herself as her woman because they broke up.
