Review
“A Puro Dolor” is a song by the Puerto Rican musical group “Son by Four” and is fart one of the Spanish musical classic songs. The song was released in 2000 and two tracks were produced, one as a Salsa and the other as a ballad, the one we are reviewing is the ballad one.
The song reached stayed number one on the Billboard Top Latin Songs Chart for 20 weeks in a row. The song had a great success and even an English version of the song was released in the USA in the name of “Purest of Pain”.
The song, lyrics, and the video clip give the sensation of being listening to an acapella song since in the video clip the singer from “Son by Four” are sitting all together singing apparently in a private concert. The lyrics are emotional, telling us a sad love story of a man who is mourning because the girl he loves is now with another man. He and the girl agreed to not have contact again, however, the man breaks their pact and calls her, explaining to her that he only needs to hear her voice at least one more time, then he continues to ask and beg the life to return to him his happiness because his days are now empty and lonely.
This isn’t a difficult song this song is made to relax, to make you feel nostalgic and sad, maybe imagining or thinking about that love you cared for so much in the past, for that reason the lyrics are sung slow, with a clear pace and they aren’t complicated, you can easily understand most of the lyrics using a translator. If you want to practice a basic Spanish level “A Puro Dolor” is the ideal song for you besides the fact that you may end up loving the song and listening to it over and over.
