Review
Aitana and Zzoilo are having a lovely time, and whilst there's a lot of thoughts of jetting around Europe, really they just want to be together. He's missing her, and she's busy with her singing, but will be heading direct to him asap.
It's a typical Spanish pop fun song, but with ultra fast singing, so fast it's hard to follow even with the lyrics written down in front of you; and I suspect there are some transcription errors by whoever wrote down the lyrics too, and they were probably a native speaker. Maybe it was a speed singing competition they were in? You will be able to call yourself a native when you can enunciate the words as fast as they do.
There's come lyrics clash from the adverbs due to the difference in gender; for example se me pone cara tonto/tonta
- as he's singing as a man, and her as a woman.
todo lo alto
- lit. everything the highest , is a nice turn of phrase that translates better as "everything in style" i.e. the best.
A few French, Portugese, Italian and even Basque phrases for "my love" appear, but they very well know (apart from the Basque!) so don't trouble too much.
Zzolio lets us know some of his background thoughts in an article which he says (translated)...
"'It's a song that talks about how we feel when we're close to a person you like, who maybe you don't love or isn't the love of your life, but at that moment, on that day, at that hour, at that site, it's making you fly... And you feel more handsome, stronger, bigger. And that's the nice thing about meeting people, I think, that feeling they provoke in you,' he concludes."
