Review
Chayanne Torero's lyrics' meaning and translation
Torero is a Latin Pop song by the Puerto Rican singer Elmer Figueroa Arce best known as Chayanne . The song was released on May 20, 2002. Right immediately after its release, the song became a number one hit in Spain, Argentine, Mexico, Venezuela, Puerto Rico, Colombia, Cuba, and most Latin-American countries. The video clip for the song was filmed in Buenos Aires, Argentine, and was nominated as the best shot musical clip.
The song and the clip show us the streets of Buenos Aires and the traffic at its peak, after seeing the beautiful streets and buildings then we see a beautiful girl driving a beautiful convertible while Chayanne is walking down the street looking for the girl we saw in the car after a few instances walking he found his motorcycle and joins the road when he finally finds the girl he stops in front of her car in a traffic light, everyone is amazed as the video progresses we see people joining him dancing in the middle of the street making an outstanding choreography to impress the girl in the car people starts to surround them in the street having fun watching Chayanne dance at the end of the video Chayanne gets close to the girl and they kiss passionately, after that he returns to his motorcycle and leaves the place leaving the girl smiling at him. The video is animated and the music kicks in with that Latin pop beats.
The lyrics are a description of what Chayanne felt looking at that girl in the car, he tries to follow her but instead, he goes otherwise her direction, he looks for her but can’t find her, he’s desperate to find her. the chorus starts when he says “tell me if I need to be a torero , put my soul in the arena” he doesn’t care what comes as long she knows he loves her. people tell the girl that they saw him alone, depressed, and unable to sleep just because of her. without her, his life is chaos.
The song has more than a decade now however you can find TikTok challenges dancing to the song becoming popular in Latin-American.
Chayanne Torero's Lyrics difficulty
The song is easy to understand however some sentences can be difficult to translate as certain words in Spanish change their meaning during the interpretation. If you are learning Spanish this song can give you a small challenge, the lyrics are sung quite fast so if you aren’t used to listening to Spanish conversation you may get lost trying to follow it, besides that the song is fantastic to practice and learn new words and verbs .
